On Tuesday, July 16, Erin O’Hearn from Charlestown High School and Michael Berger from Madison Park High School became the first team of externs from Boston Public Schools at the FableVision Studios/The Reynolds Center.

Working with the Boston Public School Externships team, FableVision/Reynolds Center launched a brand-new externship program, which provided teachers and elementary/middle school students a behind-the-scenes look at educational media and technology development.

Over two days, Erin and Michael met with Paul Reynolds, CEO of FableVision, and Andrea Calvin, Vice President of the Reynolds Center, Bob Flynn, director of art and animation, Mikaela Johnson, associate producer, Allie Caton, production assistant and Nathan Wentworth, junior developer to learn about the inner workings of the multimedia production studio.

Working with Andrea, Erin and Michael explored FabMaker Studio, a digital design and fabrication tool developed for students in grades k-8 and Animation-ish, a leveled animation program.
