Elevating the Tooth Fairy Tradition to a Sense of Mission
This animated short film from the Wiggly Tooth Workshop helps bring new, deeper meaning to the Tooth Fairy ritual.
The Reynolds Center TLC team was delighted to help bring to life The Tooth Fairy’s Magical Mission, a new animated short film created through a collaboration with the Wiggly Tooth Workshop and our partners at FableVision Studios.
The story follows a curious boy named Arlo, who meets Cece the Tooth Fairy and learns that children’s teeth hold the qualities they’ve been growing since birth: kindness, courage, creativity, perseverance, friendship, and wonder. In the film, CeCe the Tooth Fairy collects teeth as well as those qualities within, and shows how they can be used to help make the world a better place.
The concept was created by entrepreneur, inventor, and storyteller Gerard Murphy, inspired by a question many children ask: “What does the Tooth Fairy actually do with my tooth?”
In an effort to bring greater meaning to this age-old ritual, the creative team chose to deepen it through storytelling that honors imagination while encouraging children to recognize the positive qualities growing inside themselves.
The project reflects a shared belief among the collaborators that children’s media can nurture empathy, creativity, confidence, and human connection, while keeping the wonder of childhood beautifully intact. The very curious little boy Arlo is given a lesson by CeCe the Tooth Fairy about the magical qualities each tooth holds (especially when they’re clean!) that can be used to make the world a better place.
