Writer Workshop: Tell Your Story

  • TLC Studios 390 Washington Street Dedham, MA, 02026 United States (map)

Spend an inspirational hour and half with award-winning journalist and author to get that book idea out of your head and onto the page! The first step in telling your story is getting started.  Learn to organize your ideas and structure your life experiences into a riveting story.

Learn the different ways you can write a memoir and how to put your story into words. Whether it’s for publication or to preserve family history, writing a memoir can be a satisfying project. Memoir can be short and focused, long and developed, or punctuated with photos or artwork.  Experience writing instruction, small group brainstorming, in-class writing exercises, and a workable plan to keep you writing after you leave.

You will learn how to use your own life and its obstacles to write a compelling memoir. Explore where to start your story, create structure, how to use dialogue, the greater disciplines of writing, and more.

Please bring a pen and notebook, or laptop/tablet with a writing application.

Audience: Anyone who has been thinking about writing a memoir or personal history or is in the process of writing one (ages 18+).

When: Thursday, June 5, 6-7:30 p.m.

TLC Studios is located at 390 Washington Street in Dedham, Ma. There is easy, free parking at Keystone Lot (10 Eastern Ave.).
