Peter H. Reynolds
Founder of FableVision

Peter is a New York Times best-selling children's book author illustrator (Judy Moody, The Dot, Ish, Sky Color, Someday), selling over 20 million books in over 25 languages around the globe. In 1996, he founded FableVision as a social change agency to help move the world to a better place by creating "stories that matter, stories that move." FableVision's signature blend of positive media, storytelling and interactive technologies is sought after by a host of best-in-class organizations, such as PBS KIDS, Reading Is Fundamental, the Jim Henson Company, and National Wildlife Federation. Peter also founded FableVision Learning, a K-12 educational publishing company, as well as the nonprofit Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning, and Creativity, and independent book and creativity shop called The Blue Bunny Bookstore in historic Dedham Square, Massachusetts.  Peter received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from his undergraduate alma mater, Fitchburg State University, in recognition of his “substantial contributions to education and the arts.” He was named Verizon Literacy Champion for his “tireless efforts in promoting reading, writing and self-expression”, and was also awarded the Champion of Arts Education Advocacy Award for his “amazing work supporting & promoting arts education.” He received the Visionary Award from AAP Learning Group, which celebrates the extraordinary accomplishments of the learning resource industry and the ongoing mission of helping every child receive a world-class education.  Reynolds’ goal is “to help children protect their creative spirit and give their parents, teachers, and caregivers the support and tools to bravely make their mark in learning, creative self-expression, and civic problem-solving.”

Paul Reynolds

Paul is the CEO and Co-Founder of Boston-based FableVision, which creates and distributes original educational media, mobile games and apps designed to move the world to a better place. Paul has helped build the multimillion-dollar firm into an internationally recognized multimedia developer and publisher, with partnerships, strategic alliances and clients across many industries - broadcast, museum, institutional, K12, educational publishing, technology and research.  As CEO, Paul also oversees the company’s K12 edtech publishing group FableVision Learning, as well as The Reynolds Center for Teaching Learning & Creativity.  Paul has collaborated with a wide range of media, museum, research and broadcast partners who are seeking a better way to reach learners and inspire life-long learning, including PBS KIDS, National Academy of Sciences, The Jim Henson Company, MIT Education Arcade, CDC, New York Hall of Science, Columbia University School of Social Work, Girl Scouts of the USA, Houghton Mifflin, Pearson, and Carnegie Hall.  When he's not entrenched in all things FableVision, Paul teaches digital media production at Boston College, where he has served as adjunct faculty for over two decades. Paul is also a children's book author who collaborates with his twin brother and NY Times #1 Best-Selling Author/Illustrator, Peter H. Reynolds Their most recent books include Going Places, a picture book about creativity and engineering, and a STEM-meets-Arts (STEAM) early chapter book series called Sydney & Simon: Full STEAM Ahead!

Holli Caulfield
Principal, Oakdale School, Dedham MA

Holli Caulfield is currently the principal of the Oakdale School in Dedham, MA.  As a classroom teacher, Ms. Caulfield wrote and received several Lighthouse Technology grants from the Massachusetts Department of Education to integrate technology into the curriculum, was a member of the K-12 Technology Steering Committee, was a member of the Massachusetts Core of Exemplary Educators, and was featured in a Department of Education video on technology-integrated instruction.  In 2000, Ms. Caulfield was awarded the Milken Educator Award, a national award that recognizes excellence in education. Caulfield was also the recipient of a Milken Festival for Youth grant in 2004, through which she and her students "cleaned up" the Harold LeBlanc Nature Trail at Fisher School and created an environmental classroom.  In her role as principal, she spearheaded a grass roots effort to renovate the third floor of Oakdale School, which is more than 100 years old, as well as to create a state-of-the-art media center. Ms. Caulfield also implemented an after-school enrichment program at Oakdale School, offering 20+ courses to students after school.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State College, and has a Masters degree in Instructional Technology from Lesley University. Ms. Caulfield holds her certification in School Administration from Boston University and is enrolled in a Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at Northeastern University.

Leo Brehm
Learning Evolution Officer, Central Mass Collaborative/ Director of Digital Learning, Mass Virtual Academy

A career school CIO for public schools within Massachusetts, throughout his 21 year career, Leo has supported education in a variety of roles, including a technology support specialist, instructional technology specialist, network administrator, director of technology, and adjunct professor in four districts and a higher education institution. Currently he serves as the Learning Evolution Officer for Central Mass Collaborative providing innovative solutions to forty plus districts and 80-100k students and as the Director of Digital Learning for the Massachusetts Virtual Academy focused on reinventing the virtual program into a personalized experience. In addition he sits on the K12-CTO advisory committee for the IMS Global Learning Consortium, the Board of Directors for The Reynolds Center for Teaching, Learning and Creativity, and the Board of Directors for SustainEd. For several years, he served on the MassCUE Board of Directors also serving as president and treasurer. He has a B.A. in Media and Public Relations, an Ed.M. in Instructional Technology and is working on an Ed.D in Education Leadership from Northeastern University. He is passionate and dedicated to the advancement of learning through a schooling model that is both student-centered and personalized.

Spencer D. Collier
CEO of Getfused


Founder and CEO of Getfused, a Digital Marketing Agency based out of Boston’s Innovation District, Spencer is a natural leader with extensive hands-on experience.  He is a creative entrepreneur, innovator, and strategist with over 18 years’ experience in building teams to tactically conceptualize, plan, design, and develop applications and infrastructures that bring customers results.   He is proficient in defining logistics, finding solutions and identifying and delivering resolutions.  He conceptualized Getfused in 1996, then used his drive and experience in startup and consulting environments, such that by 2006, Getfused was working with a prestigious client list including Legal Sea Foods, the New England Patriots, Sonesta Hotels International, Symantec, and the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC).  Having faced challenges and barriers as a self-reliant teenager, Spencer recognized a need for services and programs to support youth in such circumstances.  Inspired, he developed a passion for working with non-profit organizations focused on character building, education, and opportunities for youths.  This motivated him and over the years he has taken great pleasure in working with many non-profits including Ron Burton Training Village, Big Sister, and most recently, Campaign for Catholic Schools.   

Cherrie Farnette
Educational Consultant
Nashville, TN

Cherrie Farnette has teaching/administration/university experience K-12 schools and colleges and was the Director of the Family & Community Outreach Program at Currey Ingram Academy. She has presented for parent and teacher workshops at local, state, and national conferences, participated in educational research projects and authored articles and teacher methodology books.  Ms. Farnette has had experience on several working boards of educational organizations and independent schools; she is currently on the boards of the TN International Dyslexia Association, S.O.A.R. LD/ADHD Camp & Academy in NC and WY, and Oak Hill School in Nashville, TN.  Her honors include being named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by both the Detroit Free Press Newspaper and the National Council for Learning Disabilities.

James F. McGrail
Founder, McGrail Law Firm

In 2000, James F. McGrail founded the McGrail Law Firm.  Since that time the firm has earned its reputation as an elite construction/transportation law firm by successfully handling and participating in many of the most important development and transportation projects in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The firm operates at the center of the political, legal and business worlds.  In 2005, Law & Politics in conjunction with Boston Magazine recognized Mr. McGrail, as one of the Rising Stars in the Massachusetts Legal Community.  Prior to opening his law practice, Mr. McGrail served as the Undersecretary of Transportation for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, General Counsel for the Executive Office of Transportation, and Assistant to the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Highway Department, Chief of Staff at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and General Counsel at the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority.   Mr. McGrail has also been active in education.  A graduate of Georgetown University and Suffolk University Law School, he is the former Chairman of the North Cambridge Catholic High School Board of Trustees.  He also served for over eight years as President of St. Paul’s Nursery School. A former high school basketball coach, Mr. McGrail was named Coach of the Year by The Boston Globe in 1999.  Mr. McGrail and his wife, Christine, reside in Dedham with their four children.  He presently serves at the Chairman of the Dedham Zoning Board of Appeals.  Active in many other civic activities, he also coaches the 4th and 7th grade Dedham Metrowest Basketball Teams and has ridden in the Pan Massachusetts Challenge since 2009. 

Representative Paul McMurtry 
Massachusetts State Representative

Paul McMurtry of Dedham was elected to the House of Representatives in a special election in May 2007. Prior to serving as State Representative of the 11th Norfolk, Paul held no previous elective office.  Paul maintains his active involvement in Rotary International, where he served twice as club president and whose motto is “Service above Self” has been a major influence to pursuing public service.  Paul is extremely proud of his 100% voting record in his first term; he is committed to representing his constituency with dedication and passion. Self-employed since the age of 20 as owner an operator of several small businesses, Paul has a unique perspective and understanding of the needs of the community through his priority to customer service. He is currently the proud owner and president of the Dedham Community Theatre, located in historic Dedham Square.  Paul is the product of public education, a graduate of Dedham High School and Northeastern University. He believes a focus on a quality education is the key to our future successes within our society.  Paul is honored to represent the Town of Westwood, the Town of Dedham and Precinct 8 of the Town of Walpole. Afrika Afeni Mills
Instructional TeachCycle Coach

Afrika Afeni Mills is an Instructional TeachCycle Coach with BetterLesson, an organization that works to prepare and support effective teachers. In this role, Afrika provides virtual coaching forteachers across the country. Afrika has also served as a Curriculum and Instruction Director, Elementary Literacy Director, a teacher developer/staff trainer, and a classroom teacher for Framingham and Boston Public Schools. Afrika received her bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from Ambassador University with minors in English, psychology, and mass communications, and has a master's degree in Elementary Education from Boston College's Lynch School of Education, where she graduated first in her class. Afrika holds the passionate belief that all children can be motivated, engaged, dynamic learners and leaders when provided with a student-centered, authentically differentiated learning environment that inspires and nurtures wonder and creativity, and it is her professional mission to go viral with this belief.

Michele Adams Norman
Vice President of Education Strategy and Advocacy at FableVision

As VP for Education Strategy and Advocacy, Michele's focus is on expanding FableVision's presence in state and federal education initiatives, and on advancing several of FableVision's strategic ventures.  She also serves as the liaison between FableVision's development studio and publishing division - with a focus on securing grant, philanthropic, corporate and government funding to expand and scale the company's offering of innovative tools & resources that promote 21st education.

Wade Whitehead
Teacher, Crystal Spring School, Roanoke, VA

Wade Whitehead teaches fifth graders at Crystal Spring School in Roanoke, Virginia. He holds degrees in Anthroplogy and Elementary Education from The College of William and Mary and Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia.  A National Board Certified Teacher, Wade has received numerous professional recognitions and awards, including the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award, the McGlothlin Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Virginia Lottery Excellence in Education Award. He was named to the USA Today All-USA Teacher Team and is a former Roanoke City Public Schools Teacher of the Year.  Wade serves a Chair of the Virginia Milken Educator Network and is President of the Teachers of Promise Foundation, which he established to identify and support the best prospective teachers in the United States. In 2002, he established the Teachers of Promise Institute, which gathers Virginia's brightest prospective classroom teachers and a team of 50 master educators from across the country for a two-day event.  Wade has served on a number of Virginia and United States Department of Education committees and task forces, and has consulted witha number of prominent companies, including PBS, Apple, and LeapFrog. His numerous publications include the book Be A Teacher: You Can Make A Difference.  In his spare time, Wade performs as a professional jazz musician with his band, The Jiving Five.

Gary Goldberger
President of FableVision

As President and co-founder of FableVision, Gary Goldberger oversees the production of FableVision’s award-winning media products. Since the company's launch, Gary has held many positions, and he approaches each project with a multi-faceted perspective. Gary is an expert in designing and developing innovative games for learners of all ages, and is a frequent speaker nationally on the role of games in education. Gary’s unique blend of technical and creative leadership has been a key reason many FableVision projects have won awards for our partners.

Tracie Hines
Director of Strategic Partnerships 

Tracie has been involved in the nonprofit world for close to 25 years, supporting mission-driven organizations in a variety of roles. For many years she worked on conservation and environmental issues, as well as supporting organizations that advanced the arts, creativity and college access for underserved teens. She is passionate about the power of education to level the playing field for all youth. Tracie LOVES building partnerships for worthwhile causes and her role at The Reynolds Center is to engage new and existing partners to ensure that all learners – especially children – develop the vision, confidence, knowledge and skills needed to succeed. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University and a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. When she’s not working, Tracie is cooking organic, plant-based recipes or spending quality time with her husband Tom and three kids Jack, Cate and Audrey. 

Dr. Denine Jimmerson
Executive Director of Curriculum & Design

Dr. Denine Jimmerson is an education consultant who specializes in creating and implementing curriculum and instruction that is focused on the engagement of creative thinking. As a result, she has dedicated much of her work to the development of creative tools in teaching, learning and assessment. Denine believes that all students are creative in some way and that creativity can be developed and enhanced. These assumptions provide a foundation for determining how educators can use instruction in developing creative skills in addition to the concepts they teach.

Denine has over 20 years of experience in the field of youth services and education. Her experience spans classroom instruction at the K-12 levels, university Master’s program professor, district level assessment development and implementation, student data analyses, and instructional coach for multiple non-profit organizations and school districts.

Denine’s areas of expertise include urban education, project-based and authentic learning, the development of student growth model learning progressions, creative alternate assessment, project management and the development and implementation of educational technology. She holds a bachelor degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Texas at Dallas, a master’s degree in Elementary Education and a doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix.

Richard Tavener, Strategic Partnerships

Richard is an Emmy®-award winning documentary film producer and co-founder of The Imagine it! Project, multimedia curriculum for teachers to integrate the process of creative and critical thinking in the classroom. . Richard is CEO and principal instructor for Fused Learning, the art of science education through constructivist learning. Richard’s experience expanded to include The Virtual Brain, connecting neuroscience with art + music in education. Richard assembled a network of STEAM education thought leaders including Blue Man Group, Pixar Animation Studios, MIT, X-PRIZE Foundation, Smithsonian, Lincoln Center Institute, Sally Ride Science, The National Academy of Engineering and Stanford University, among others. Richard builds strategic partnerships for The Reynolds Center TLC, West Coast, North American markets. Richard along his wife Amy and daughter Q live in Carmel, California.

Adam Landry

Treasurer, RCTLC

Adam provides financial leadership in order to ensure the success of FableVision’s educational mission. With a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a master’s from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, he is often hailed for his incredible ability to make money grow on trees. Adam and his wife, Annmarie, live in a very full house with their six children, Evan, Alyssa, Julia, Alex, and Ava, Brady, a Yorki-Poo named Teddy and a cat named Cottonball.   

Kathy Loukos
FableVision Learning


Kathy Loukos brings decades of experience in business, finances and common sense to help FableVision Learning and the Reynolds Center steer the ship forward. Born in Greece, and emigrating to Boston when she was only nine, she learned English quickly. She learned much from her mother and father about working hard in a new country. That drive to survive and thrive became the bedrock of her way of thinking. Kathy works extremely hard to make sure that the "creative harbor" of FableVision Learning remains open and a welcome place for educators and families, but she also understands "balance." She reminds us all that recharging is key to a happy life, so a few times a year, she slips off to her home in Mytilini, a greek island where her retreat house awaits her. Fortunately for us at FableVision and the Reynolds Center, she knows how to Skype! We try not to bother her, but without her guidance, our ship would not sail as smoothly!

Shelby Marshall
Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Product Solutions at FableVision

Shelby works with clients and partners to explore potential partnership opportunities and to map out the strategy and “ecosystem” for complex projects. He has a bachelor's in Biology from Cornell University, an MAT-Museum Education from George Washington University, and 35 years of experience designing and producing educational materials and experiences — including countless software products, websites, animated films, and books.

Bill Norris
The Dot Connector

Bill knows first hand the challenges facing both students and educators. He spent 22 years as an elementary and middle school teacher, Title I Director, and central office administrator in the Boston area. He has a degree in elementary education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, two advanced degrees from Lesley University in curriculum design and administration, and a certificate in organizational development from Bentley College.  While Senior Project Director at MCET/Mass Interaction and the JASON Foundation for Education, Bill was FableVision's "guardian angel" who helped bring to life the award-winning BrainCogs software, learning strategies for struggling and mainstream learners. His team at JASON Foundation also secured three million dollars in federal Star Schools funds to enhance the creation of integrated science and literacy programs for underserved middle school students.  Bill oversees the schedules and calendars for both Peter and Paul Reynolds as well the logistics for the Reynolds Center. 

Georganna Woods
Grant Researcher

Georganna Woods has been involved in the nonprofit world for the past 25 years in various capacities. In addition to the Reynolds Center, she divides her workweek between Associated Grant Makers (AGM), Earthworm, Inc., and The Dedham Community Theatre. Through her work at AGM, she brings a background of grant research, grant writing and assisting nonprofits and grantmakers with their information needs.
